A couple years ago we celebrated our combined 100-year birthday. Regretfully for Joan, many friends could only get to 100 with simple math and assumed we had both reached 50. We bring this up only because collectively we have over 15 years of college and advanced education and over 60 years of work experience. We have worked in radio and production, tourism and health-care, in grocery sales and meat plant operations, in marketing, journalism and communications. One of us is a trained lifeguard; the other is afraid of water.
